Review 2023

There have been so many achievements for the stud this year it is difficult to know where to begin. Early in the year the Breed Society published the results of it's Elite scheme for the years ending 2022.
Our stallion Hollybrooke Tinker was awarded a silver grade for the successes of his progeny.
Two of our mares Hollybrooke Debbie and Coffee Crunch had each gained enough progeny points to gain gold grades (two of only twelve mares ever to be awarded this level grade) Both mares are still here on the stud. Coffee Crunch who although very well, is retired from breeding at the age of twenty six. Hollybrooke Debbie is still breeding. She is pictured with her very smart 2023 colt foal Hollybrooke Distinction. We hope he will follow in his illustrious siblings foot steps.

We bred just three foals, two by Skywalker and one by Tinker. We are very pleased with all of them. Hollybrooke Elegant (Skywalker/ Hollybrooke Grace) accompanied her Mum to three shows winning rosettes every time. She proved to have an absolutely amazing and unflappable Hollybrooke temperament. She loaded without a care every time in the trailer. She was happy to stand still and wait while her Mum did her show. We will keep her to show as a youngster but she will be for sale later on.

Other ponies we bred also had a successful season for their new owners.
The picture shows the yearling Hollybrooke Tinker's Gold who was second at New Forest Show, won his class at the Breed show where he was also reserve young gelding champion.
Hollybrooke Annie and Hollybrooke Martini have both been awarded their dressage grading with the Breed Society. Also having qualified, Annie also made the trip to the Riding Club championships at Lincoln where she was second in the Novice dressage and won the Elementary.
Hollybrooke Calvados successfully turned his hoof to a variety of different classes his wins included WHP and qualifying for the Christmas London International Horse Show in the performance pony class.
Hollybrooke Duke on the right, had an fantastic first season in open WHP classes, qualifying for HOYS at only his third attempt and being placed ninth in the final. He is having a complete change of scene and is going hunting this winter.
His full sister Hollybrooke Halo also enjoyed success with her new family.
Another pony who has had an amazing season is the four year old Hollybrooke Jupiter who was only broken over the winter He was champion at the Northern New Forest Show and had wins in both Picton and Dargavel qualifiers. He will be doing some dressage through the winter, before tackling some open classes next year.

Apart from the ponies we bred, ponies conceived here have had a wonderful season too. Brock Bronwen by Hollybrooke Tinker was the highest scoring mare at the Spring mare grading and was champion mare at the Breed Show. Brock Bezique (by Burley Branston) also passed her grading. The first cross Trenley Tomorrow (pictured right) also by Hollybrooke Tinker has been competing in dressage and jumping with his family. Crabbswood Surprize by Hollybrooke Rambler was supreme show champion at the Ellingham Show and followed this by winning the Beaulieu Road championship at the Breed Show.
We are hugely proud of all these wonderful ponies but we are equally proud of those much loved family ponies who give their owners so much pleasure. This lovely photo shows the yearling Hollybrooke Galaxy enjoying a pamper session with his young family. Hollybrooke Theo, Hollybrooke Nespresso and Hollybrooke Destiny have all be broken this year and are going beautifully. Theo by Hollybrooke Tinker loves his jumping and has already competed a couple of times. Nespresso has done a variety of different things, her owner says that she loves her bravery and will have a go at absolutely anything. Hollybrooke Destiny (Hollybrooke Duke's full brother) is also going nicely under saddle and his owners hope to be out competing him soon

We have done just five shows. We had a win at four of them and championships at three. Hollybrooke Grace was Champion at the Breamore Show and second at both the New Forest Show and the Breed Show. She also went to the Autumn mare grading but we still await the results. We took two young ponies to the Ellingham Show, just for the experience. We were thrilled with a first place with two year old Hollybrooke Favour (on the right) She was also second at the Breed Show. She looks as though she may follow in her successful mother, Hollybrooke Grace's foot steps.
Our super star, as it has been for the last few years was Hollybrooke Melitta. She was first in her class at New Forest Show, won the much coverted New Forest in hand championship and was reserve Mountain and Moorland supreme champion. At the Breed Show she won the small yeld mare class. This was the eighth time in eight visits that she has won her class, which I think is probably a record. She went on to be reserve mare champion and then was overall Breeder's champion, a trophy that she has now won three times. We decided that as she has won absolutely everything. The New Forest Show New Forest championship, NPS Summer Championships New Forest championship, the Breed Show supreme and reserve championship, breeder's championship, the mare championship four times, that we would retire her while at the top. Her final trot round the ring at the Breed Show with her Championship rosette was the most emotional I have ever experienced. She is in foal for 2024 and between foals she will be, as she has been this year, my riding pony. How lucky we are to have her. She is a beautiful person inside and out.
