We have done just five shows. We had a win at four of them and championships at three. Hollybrooke Grace was Champion at the Breamore Show and second at both the New Forest Show and the Breed Show. She also went to the Autumn mare grading but we still await the results. We took two young ponies to the Ellingham Show, just for the experience. We were thrilled with a first place with two year old Hollybrooke Favour (on the right) She was also second at the Breed Show. She looks as though she may follow in her successful mother, Hollybrooke Grace's foot steps.
Our super star, as it has been for the last few years was Hollybrooke Melitta. She was first in her class at New Forest Show, won the much coverted New Forest in hand championship
and was reserve Mountain and Moorland supreme champion. At the Breed Show she won the small yeld mare class. This was the eighth time in eight visits that she has won her class, which I think is probably a record. She went on to be reserve mare champion and then was overall Breeder's champion, a trophy that she has now won three times. We decided that as she has won absolutely everything. The New Forest Show New Forest championship, NPS Summer Championships New Forest championship, the Breed Show supreme and reserve championship, breeder's championship, the mare championship four times, that we would retire her while at the top. Her final trot round the ring at the Breed Show with her Championship rosette was the most emotional I have ever experienced. She is in foal for 2024 and between foals she will be, as she has been this year, my riding pony. How lucky we are to have her. She is a beautiful person inside and out. |
